LEVEL 28 · Story Mode

Mechanical Snowfield (Outskirts)

With the swamp behind us, we've reached a new region known as Mechanical Snowfield.

Level brief

With the swamp behind us, we've reached a new region known as Mechanical Snowfield.

Lights flicker throughout the village, so this is clearly no ordinary place. We can even see traces of electricity and magnetism among its traditional buildings, radiating a strikingly futuristic air.

There are still zombies here, and Hurriclover has no more allies to call on. Hopefully we'll meet some new ones...

Excuse me. Could you tell us how to cross this snowfield?

  8. 7
    Power Peony

Hm? Are you from out of town? I'm Power Peony. Welcome to the Mechanical Snowfield!

  9. 8
    Power Peony

If you want to get there... you'll have to pass through Snowbloom Palace, then get BISHOP's permission.

  10. 9
    Corchid

Excuse me, but who is this BISHOP you mentioned?

  11. 10
    Power Peony

You've never heard of BISHOP? He's the leader of Mechanical Snowfield! And my idol.

  12. 11
    Power Peony

All the amazing technology you see here is thanks to his leadership. I've always wanted to meet him.

  13. 12

But there are zombies blocking the way from here to Snowbloom Palace... They don't seem to answer to BISHOP...

  14. 13
    Hygro Plantago

If you'd like... why not come with us?

  15. 14
    Hygro Plantago

We've already dealt with plenty of zombies along the way, and we need to pass through Snowbloom Palace too.

  16. 15
    Power Peony

Really? Thank you so much! But I'm only going as far as Snowbloom Palace. I'm not going to the Zombie Lair.

  17. 16
    Power Peony

I'll head back and pack a few things first.

  18. 17
    [narrator]

After waiting a while for Power Peony...

  19. 18
    Power Peony

I'm back! I'm all charged up. Let's activate the floor tile and get going.

  20. 19
    ——Homing Thistle

Wait. Why are we activating a floor tile? Can this thing actually move?

  21. 19
    ——Red Stinger

Huh? Is this floor tile some kind of vehicle?

  22. 20
    Power Peony

This floor tile activates when you run electricity through it. It's a form of transportation unique to this area. Ready? Let's go!

  23. 21

That zombie's wheel... It says... "perpetual motion machine"?

  2. 1
    Power Peony

Peddling pseudoscience like that in Mechanical Snowfield... Is this supposed to be an insult?

  3. 2
    Sunflower

The wheel's name is written on it too: "The Tossing-and-Turning Closed Loop." What a weird name.

  4. 3

And underneath that, it says: "BISHOP-approved."

  9. 8
    Power Peony

Oh, thank you... What should I call you?

  10. 9

  11. 10

What even is this wheel? BISHOP-approved? No way!

  12. 11
    Power Peony

Those zombies must have made that up! There's no way BISHOP would fail to spot such obvious pseudoscience.

  13. 12
    Hygro Plantago

I took a quick look. Just as Peony said, there's an electric motor hidden inside the wheel.

  14. 13

And something still has to push it. It's obviously a fake.

  10. 6

Oh, right. Snowbloom Palace just received a message for you from Hurriclover.

  11. 7

  12. 8
    ——

But it's a consumable. Making just one won't keep us supplied for long.

Easy. Let Enzymei hold on to a few Pond Crystals. Mold problem solved; plum problem created.

  18. 14

  24. 20

  25. 21
    Lightning Reed

We'll definitely leave a lasting impression on Hurriclover.

  27. 22

    (Uh-oh. Hurriclover's in for a rough time.)

  28. 23

Let's head back to Snowbloom Palace first. We can check in with Hurriclover when we have time.

Your messages are way too slow, Magnet-shroom. This letter is ages old!

  30. 101
    Potato Mine

It didn't arrive until after I'd already joined the team.

  31. 102
    Magnet-shroom

BISHOP said they normally arrive in a day or two. How strange.

  32. 103

Musical notes travel three hundred meters per second. If sound can carry a thousand miles across Mechanical Snowfield, is speed really a concern?

  33. 104

You call notes fast? Want to take a look at the orb of light over my head?

  34. 105
    Opti-caltrop

It's faster than your notes by... one, two, three... a one followed by a whole bunch of zeroes.

  35. 106
    Corchid

Six zeroes. That's roughly three hundred million divided by three hundred.

  36. 107
    Sweetbriar Rose

Let's talk while we head back to Snowbloom Palace. BISHOP is still waiting.

  37. 200
    ——Homing Thistle

We already went, actually. We even answered several of Hurriclover's questions.
